Epson TM-U220 Ethernet Receipt Printer Set Up

These instructions are for a Mac.  To set up this printer your computer must have Ethernet Port (or you will need an Ethernet Adapter).

1

Check WiFi router IP address

Open  Network Preferences (it is at the bottom of the list when you click the WiFi icon) and click on the Advanced button. There are seven tabs in the advanced settings. The WiFi router address is under the TCP/IP tab (It should be something like 192.168.1.1). Writing down this number. Then, click on the Cancel button.

2

Reset the printer

Before connecting the printer to router you have to reset printer. The printer should be turned off. At the back of the printer, use a pointy object (e.g. paperclip) to hold down the  Reset Button for 10 seconds.

After 10 seconds, turn on the printer while keeping the reset button held down for another 10-20 seconds. During this time, the printer will print out a short slip first.

Then, it will print out a longer slip which confirms the reset has been completed.

After resetting the printer, plug an ethernet cable into the printer ethernet port and connect the cable to an ethernet port of your computer.

Go back to Network Preferences, disconnect from the WiFi and switch to the USB Ethernet. In the advanced settings change the settings so that they match the following:

When you finish, press the Apply button and close the window.

Recall the number you wrote down earlier. Then, open a web browser and type 192.168.192.168 into the address bar and hit enter/return. This should take you to the EPSON TMNet WebConfig homepage. What we are doing here is to assign an IP address to the printer, since each printer needs to connect to your store's specific network.

After loading the page, choose  TCP/IP under the Configuration section and follow the instruction below:

Once you finish, click the Submit button and the website will tell you the configuration change is completed.

Click on the Reset button and website will instruct you to wait until the printer has been reset (The printer will make a buzz sound once it finishes resetting).

3

Connect the printer

Unplug the printer from your computer and connect it to your router. Turn on the WiFi on your iPad and open the Bindo POS app (Please make sure your iPad and printer have the same WiFi network).

In order for the printer to work, you first need to create  departments for your products in the Menu Setup (e.g. Desert, Beverage). Then, go to Settings-->Hardware-->Kitchen Printer. The status of the printer should be "Not Connected" (DO NOT PRESS CONNECT). Click on the blue dots and choose Assign Department. Then, select any department(s) you want to assign to the printer. Click Done and the department is assigned to the printer.

Click on the blue dots again and choose print test, the printer should print out something like this:
